8-9 doctoral scholarships

The International Research Training Group „Interart Studies“ is an interdisciplinary research program jointly conducted by art scholars of the Freie Universität Berlin and the Copenhagen Doctoral School in Cultural Studies. Interconnecting fine arts studies such as art history, literary, theatre and film studies, musicology, and cultural theory the Research Training Group aims to examine works and events of art from different periods of time in order to devise new methodological approaches to emerging Interart-phenomena. At the same time, it serves the creation of new aesthetic categories, which might adequately describe the tendency towards multi-medialization, hybridity, and performativization. The long-term goal is the creation of a new theory, which refers to different types of Interart-phenomena and which cannot be grasped by a single discipline within art studies alone.

The doctoral scholarships are awarded for a period of two years (with the option of an extension for max. 1 year).
